Final Fantasy X-2.
You all liked Final Fantasy X, right? Best movie you have ever played?

My good friend recieved it for christmas. As we are both Square fanboys, I was jealous, not having a PS2 at the time. HE played it for one day, then tossed the controller to the side. " Crap."

Recently, I reaquired a PS2 and picked FFX-2 from the used game self from my local EBgames. From the beginning, I really started enjoying it. Sure, the cheesy 'Charlie's Angel's' thing was on the side of horrible, but hte game has it's merits and bad spots.

Let's get to the good stuff.

1. Like Final Fantasy EVERYTHING, the bonus stuff is cool. While some of the bonus stuff in FFX was jsut plain hard to get to : example, Tidus's final weapon aquired in the balloon race on Chocobos... FFX-2 is lacking. No summons, the weird uber dresspheres, the sphere break game. Raising chocobos like in XII *which I hated, but who DIDN'T want Knights of the Round?*
Some of the interesting puzzles and a dungeon can be solved by sending out the chocobos that you raised from little baby chocobos and making them find stuff for you. The extras seemed good for what they are, especially the 100 floor dungeon that is a extra, plus the Crimson Sphere quest, which puts you in the Cave of Woe.

2. Story. The stroy is decent. It is a 1000 year story, and it is interesting to see the history of Spira, and some stuff that went on behind the scenes during FFX. While it is not really good until the middle, it is still interesting.

3. Dresspheres..... umm, right. Hooray for innovation and trying something new, but...ug.

4. The breezy way that you can do whatever you want. The ability to go where ever the damn well you please is cool, but if you are a fan, you won't be happy with the 78% after you kick the ass out of the game. Reading some of the walkthroughs, I would never have guessed some of the stuff you needed to do to get 100%. Ahh, but that is where the + game option comes in. Which, in my opinion, in only a sad relative to the + game option from, say, Chrono Trigger. You keep your dresspheres, weapons and armor, and money, but start at lvl 1 and have to follow the same steps as before. Sure, the stuff for completed missions stays done, then you have to just backtrack to find the stuff you didn't get in the first go around.

Overall, I enjoyed it. Some of the harsher critics turned their backs from it, but my question is, did they even play it? Or did they get pissy at the fact that the beloved series decided to cash in a little? I'm guessing that is what ended up happening, but that is ok. IF you have 50 hours and like the cast of FFX, I say try it.
