Well, I am back from my two week vacation, rested and raring to go.
A little while ago, a friend of mine asked me if I ever took a look at a web comic called Boy Meets Boy. Generally, I like the more 'potty' orientated humor, and the idea of sitting around on my computer reading webcomics was akin to reading novels in PDF format: wasn't going to happen.
But, I was bored at work one day and took a look. For those of you that aren't aware of the webcomic world, it has apparently existed for quite some time. This particular comic, Boy Meets Boy, was by a artist named Sandra K. Fuhr, and resided on the Keenspot servers.
It is the story of two different gay men that found each other and stayed together, stuck in a mildly okay apartment with the spawn of satan as a landlord.
Not content to just read that, I went in search of more. As soon as my geek friends heard that I was dipping into the world of online humor, the suggestions started pouring in. For gamers and for the other 90% of the human race, I present a couple of comics to get you started.
1. Penny Arcade: Who doesn't know the pleasure of reading about the misadventures of Tycho and Gabe? This is a gaming site. The comics tend to be a little racy at times, and you pretty much have to read the article sometimes to get the joke they are trying to put across in the comic. For hardcore gamers, this is a site beloved by many.

2. PVP: Again, a gamers type of magazine, but with enough other content to draw non gamers. The premise is two college guys that work at a gaming magazine and the others that work there. Nothing says fun like a blue troll and a talking cat named Scratch Fury: Destroyer of Worlds.

3. Without sounding like too much of a gaming geek, RPGWorld is the next subject. This comic is a satiric look at the RPG world, specifically seeming to focus on the Final Fantasy franchise.

4. For something a little different: MacHall. This one is very new to me, just because the guy that suggested it to me and kept at it for weeks has little in common with me. It follows a guy during his journeys through college being a geek and doing geeky things. The art is great, and the writing is decent. I started on the archives this morning. This man seems heavily inspired by Kevin Smith ( Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob)

5. Sexylosers: this is a brutal adult site. It is a Canadian doing japanimation, with a LOT of adult humor. I can't go into it alot here, but if you like that kind of humor, like me, check it out. The only problem being that the artist doesn't update alot.

6. R.K. Mulholland is, possibly, the first successful webcomic artist that lives completely off his webcomic. He created Something Posititive and apparently hasn't looked back. This is possibly one of my all-time favorite comics out there. Now that he lives off his art, he posts regularily. Check it out at www.somethingpositive.net
There are literally hundred of webcomics out there. I am slowly starting to make my way through them. I would love to hear what you think of these, or maybe suggest others for me and webcomic enthusiasts to view.
