Ramblings, just ramblings
When when

Harrry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is on it's way.

It has been a littel over two years since R.K. Rowling had released the mixed bag that was Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. As many Harry Potter fans, I eagerly await news on the newest book by hitting R.K.'swebsite. When I found out that not only the title had been picked, but she was actually on her way to writing, I was excited.

I myself, got into the HP thing a lot later than most. I actually read the first book in line to see the movie. Nevetheless, I loved the series, and the ideas behind the series. Until OotP came out, I loved the series. Now, I am a little worried. What if HP: HBP turns out to be worse? OotP seemed a exercise in frustration trying to get through it (please, don't mod me for my opinions), and now there is talk of more books after Harry leaves Hogwarts. Can HBP reclaim ground that OotP lost? One thing that MRs. Rowlings states is that it will be a shorter book. " Many people, myself included, never expected OotP to be as long as it was." Especially the overboard of teenaged angst.

The book release date, tentively set by raincoast books, is early 2006.

As for other news, principle photo for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is set to be finished pretty soon. No amount of hunting has gotten a release date, only cast lists. Hopefully I will see something soon, or someone else will report it.

I am currently re-reading the entire series. And to be honest, the second time around book 5 isn't as frustrating for me as it was the first time. It was a little overboard with the teenage angst, but I remember being pretty pissed off most of the time when I was 15-16ish. And seeing how full of ridiculous angst my 15 year old sister is, well, Harry actually is coming off pretty normal right now. I do hope he grows out of it a bit before book 6 though.

I am looking forward to the next book for sure.

Have to agree with you there. Order of the Phoenix was kinda disappointing. The characters seem a little jaded. There wasn't that energy found in the earlier books. I would guess that the book was either rushed or it just wasn't pruned properly. I love the series, so I'm definetly looking forward to the next one in the series.

Accoding to the author, OotP was the longest book for her to write, so I guess it was more along the lines that it was meant to be like it was. The second time arround was better, more because you knew that Harry was going to be whiny and angsty
