Ramblings, just ramblings

One of the things that I miss about living in a big city is not the noise, or the people, or anything like that. It is the ability to go see a movie when it opens in the theaters.

The theaters in my new town leave something to be desired. For instance, the local theater here just got Hero and THe Princess Diaries 2. The second week I got here, Alien Vs. Preditor was here. So, any chance of seeing Resident Evil: Apocolypse on opening night was dead in the water. I had planned to see it with a big group of people back in Victoria, but then I moved.

Worse than that, there is another movie I wanted to see, and it ain't no blockbuster. Shaun of the Dead is a hilarious movie about zombies taking over London, ala 28 days later, only funny. It is actually a parody of those movies, and probably other zombie movies. The point being, if it isn't a blockbuster, it will never make it to this town. Only well-grossing films make it to the theater here, and this, while it will do well, won't be in the league of such movies as Troy and AvP.

From what I have read about this movie (trying not to pirate it), it is pretty funny. So, all of you that have good movie theaters with decent release schedule, go see Shaun of the Dead for me....let me live through you and tell me if it is funny or not.

peace out
