Ramblings, just ramblings
and more!

I am a huge fan of Nine Inch Nails.

I have all the Halo albums, the singles, the stuff that a normal fan would have. Yesterday, I picked up the next album that came out, With Teeth.

I was scepticle. You see, way back in the day, NIN released a double album called the Fragile. I was hyped, it was two discs of my favorite frontman and whatever musical talent he put together for another album. Upon listening to the first singel, the Day the World Went Away, I was hooked. So, when I go tthe album, I was hoping for some Pretty Hate Machine kind of music. The last offering from Trent Reznor was The Perfect Drug, which is still one of my all-time favorites. So I was perplexed when I heard a lot of instrumental music. I'm not a huge fan of instrumental and melody music. I don't buy a NIN album for symphonic melodies. I buy it for lyrics that I can relate to and sing along with. So, after weeding out a few good songs, I put the Fragile on the shelf to collect dust.

Now, with the release of With Teeth, I was wary. First off, the first single, Hand that Feeds, is too catchy. Was this just another ploy to lure me to buy a album? Regardless, on the word of a friend, I picked it up.

It is great. You can see where Trent is still trying to be creative, but the album in whole is good. Feels a little unfinished in places, but it is good to have him back after a five year hiatus.

So, give it a try. A novel thing also about it is that the cd is, like, $10. There is minimalist packaging, so I figure that is why. But, still, go pick it up.
