For some of you out there, you might have picked up a book one day that was written by a author by the name of Stephen King and been swept away. I know that I was. One dusty summer I was spending at my dad's place, I was rooting through a stack of books and found a Stephen King one. I had read IT the previous winter and was amazingly in love with it. This one was a little different. This one was called The Gunslinger. I read it, and all at once, I didn't like it. THe man in the book, Rola...

There, once upon a time, was a little RPG for the N 64 called Paper Mario. You might not have remembered it, since it came out about the end of the short, sad life of the N 64, but it, nothertheless, is there. It is a rare find now adays, up there with Suikoden I and II and OrgeBattle 64. This last little while, the brilliant minds at the big N decided to revive this game in a new form. Hence, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door was born. The premise of the game is simple, like all mari...

well, it finally happened. The most bitter, jaded, pesimistic man I know finally got a boyfriend. I'm still not sure how the jerk got one. By the way, I am talking about me. It is funny to recount everything that happened. My dating life, up until this point is better summed up by this: " Have you ever gone to a grocery store craving something, and you know exactly what you want, but it is not available? So, while you are roaming up and down the isles, you find something that is som...

So, it seems that once again, talks between the NHL and the players that have made it what it is have broken down again. This year has bee na sad year for most of the fans of the national sport of Canada, since a lot of time is spent with friends watching our national sport. Since the strike began, people and businesses have been hoping that the strike would oly be minor and things would get back on schedule. Pubs are being affected the most, squarely based on the fact taht hockey, and th...

If you play the game, or know someone that does, you might have got caught up in the discussion of Gil Selling. FFXI message boards light up at the thought of botters camping items that would otherwise bring them good money. In response to lvling whm, I decided for extra mp, to lvl my black mage. The theory is that to lvl bard, I must lvl whm as the support job, and to lvl whm, I need all the extra MP I can get, being Elvaan and all. How does this get ot deal with the Gil Selling issue and...

Well, again, I find my self wit ha lack of time ot write my articles, but Nintendo fans will be pleased with me this time. Instead of picking on the system for a myrid of reasons, I am going to praise it. Metroid Prime II is everything that the original was, and more. The concept of shifting between two universes is nothing new, butr Metroid does it with flair. While playing it, I couldn't help think about the Zelda formula being applied to the Metroid series. Unlike Prime one, the puzz...

By now, many people have purchased the DS, through pre-order or allow themselves to be tempted in the store by the look and feel of this interesting little device. THe concept for the DS is sound, of course, given Nintendo's obsession with connectivity. That is right, I threw the gauntlet down and said obsession. There is no other way to really understand the big N's decision to do the things that it does with it's handhelds. Back in the year, there was a rumor in the industry that Nintend...

Ok, for a start, this is a article inspired by another user, which I really like. A long time ago, I got given a novel by a friend that suggested that if I wanted to expand my mind, that I should read it. It was a compendus of three books put into one format and it was called the Illuminatus! Trilogy. The makeup of the book was pure fun, and confusing on the first time through, mainly because I had no idea what the Illuminati was. That same year, Steve Jackson realeased a CCG called Il...

THe most underrated character class in the game is White Mage. I experienced living as a White Mage for quite a few days before I even got fed up with it. The white mage is one of the glue pieces to the perfect party. After all, who is gonna heal you? The Red MAge only seems to want to fight, and the Black mage can't heal. Sure, the Bard can give you 7 HP a tick back..at lvl 45. It takes two Red Mages to fill in for a white mage, so I figure you got the picture by now. At lvl 14, as a...

This has been the year of the New Game. I make a difference in that there are a lot of new, kick ass games. I have spent so much time reading and playing about games that my social life has gone to hell. I have comprised a small top five list for you. 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Who DOESN'T love this game. It took a idea and not only trumped it predessor, but beat it so bad that GTA one felt it. This is soley the best game so far. 2. Final Fantasy XI: After some time away, Van'Die...

In our training enviorment at work, we were introduced to Wikipedia.org for fun. I got hooked really bad on all the fun hyperlinking and jumping from subject matter to subject matter. So, I wrote a brief history of my online roleplaying character named Parm in Final Fantasy XI. I was surprised ot see that one of the categories that it was in was up for deletion. Now, I admit, I am not heartbroken by any means, but it was my impression that Wikipedia was a open-ended encyclopedia that allo...

As yuou might have read, I have picked up Final Fantasy XI again. I have a 43 lv bard on the Ramuh server, along wiht a few other classes lvled, notably Monk at level 33. I planned a while ago to journal my adventures, but then I stopped playing. So, here are the adventures of Parm the Female Elvaan Bard. Day 32 Today was my official day back. I have already gained my new linkpearl, kind of sad that the old Linkshell is gone. Most people ported over from the old one, but there are still...

First, there was the leaked codes. Then, of course, there was the fine tuning of the game so that it was beyond ready for release. This lead to delay after delay after delay. Now, the day has arrived. The internet flooded last night with people trying harder than hard to get the downloadable version of Half Life II from the Steam network. Good idea I suppose...and all in the name of anti piracy. Good enoigh crusade at that. Needles sto say that there are already cracked and ready version...

At first, I thought I was safe. My computer was away, and I had kissed Final Fantasy XI goodbye. I didn't care at that point that I was going ot lose all that hard work thatI had put into the game, just that I wanted out. It was literally taking over my life. I had fought hard and finally settled on the Bard class to lvl to 75, and I got too addicted around lvl 43. So, when I moved back home ot my computer, not my laptop, I opened it up, just to see what would happen. It scared me that...
