So, I left my lvl 60 Priest to fend for her own a couple of weeks ago and started a rogue on a different server. First off, because the constraints of work would prevent me from raiding with my guild in MC and BWL, I couldn't make it for these raids, and I am at that point where raiding for equipment becomes more and more important. I joined the Dark Iron server for two reasons: one, my roomate whined at me to join so he would have a friend that he knew online for that server, which is fa...

So, it seems that after a few deaths, Asia and it's game loving people are going to have a hefty withdraw as early as October of this year. After the untimely death of a small child while the child's parents left the child alone to go to a internet cafe to get in a few hours of World of Warcraft, the powers that be decided that it was time to put a end to video game related deaths. As early as October of this year Asian governments have asked widely played MMORPG makers, Blizzard in partic...

I was browsing the usual places that gamers gather on the net to find out the newest pieces of info about their favortie gaming topics when I came across the SKUs for the new Xbox 360. It was interesting to see how Microsoft was approaching the next generation of gaming. Instead of having one set system, it appears that they will have two. For those of you who don't know, this is how it works. There is a 'core' system and it is pretty much a stripped down system. It comes with a controller...

As I approach lvl 60, and as I have posted in my other WoW post, the need for better and better equipment becomes greater and greater. One guild in particular has been brought to my attention time and time again: Soverign. Sov is one of those ultra guilds that spend almost every night doing the high lvl instances and getting the loot. Seeing them decked out makes me glad that I am a Alliance instead of Horde. I have even been contacted in game about joining. It seems that Priests are al...

Well, the countdown is almost done. Thousands upon hundreds of thousands of muggles wait in baited breath for the next, second to last installment of the popular Harry Potter series from J.K. Rowling. The US publishers have already accepted over 1 million pre-orders, no doubt increased in the last week before the storm breaks. My local Chapters Books has already painted their front windows in a Hogwarts/Potter theme for the book. J.K. has already set up a bunch of readings to commense ...

So, AMD (American Micro Devices) has decided ot wage a war against it's only competitor, Intel, for unfair business practices, a'la DOJ vs Microsoft back in 97. The processor manufacturer is calling Intel's business influence unfair. What started as a lot of back and forth, AMD has decided to push it's suit onward to the American leagal system and taking its competitor to court for praciticing 'monopolistic' practises when it comes to selling processors. This harkens back to the anit-trust...

I was in a party in on of the higher level instances, in this case, Dire Maul, when a Staff of the Ogre Magi dropped. As a priest, I was very intent on getting it. For that matter, it was the reason that I went through the hell of Dire Maul. THe rules for loot was simple, pass on everything and then roll for Blues and sets. Then, the rogue in the party looted it and left the group. I was a little mad. In the race to be the greatest in World of Warcraft, a piece of equipment that drops li...

as many gaming maniacs probably already know, your PSP can become a expensive tool for oldschool gaming. Most have probably already read or have tried to use Homebrew emulator programs for the Sony PSP. Basically for the newly informed, it is a hack exploit that allows you to boot emulators off the memory stick of your PSP to play emulated NES, SNES, Genesis, and even GBC games from your PSP. Sounds awesome right? Damn straight it is awesome. After spending a few hours downloading roms fro...

Do you remember a little game for the Xbox and PS2 called BMX XXX? Sure some of you do, and most likely, some of you bought it. It was a adventurous romp into BMXing and nudity. Critics held it up as another reason to ban games or kill games all together. After all, if our precious kiddies are exposed to these things in a video game, what will come of them? Probably not as bad, since they have the playground at school, and television and movies to fill up the space that the occasional lud...

THis starts out simple enough: I got a e-mail form the regional tech department the other day stating that if we are working on certina model e-machines, please note the motherboard type. Apparently certain motherboards and power supplies, when combined, will cause the computer to burst into flames. I am not kidding. I have lamented to colligues and the like that hardware is not up to the same standard as it used to be. While a lot of pre-fab computers makes my life as a techie easy, i...

So, on the server of Dragonmaw, I have hit 56 with my NE priest. Reflecting back on some of the gaming highlights and lows of playing, I thought I would mention a few. I love that this game allows people to level cap, but some of the people playing shouldn't be that high. I have gotten into some parties where there is just no way for our party to survive, because for some, this is the first MMORPG they have played. With so many casual gamers, it makes it hard to get into a good group that ...

What can I say that hasn't been said a million times over the time since Batman Begins came to the big screen until now? Nothing. There is nothing to say. I was a little scepticle about the re-invention of the whole series. After all, wasn't the original Batman good? Didn't it give us all hope that there would be a good future for comic book movies until they disappointed us with Batman Forever? The success of BB has aleady lead to the signing of the cast for another movie and I assume the...

It has been a long time since I wrote a article, and I thought what better to write on then the impending next generation console war. When the original next generation consoles were released back about five years ago, things were in a interesting place. Nintendo, the king of the consoles had been defeated by the up and coming starter Playstation and people were holding their breaths when Microsoft, the computer giant, decided to put it's hat into the ring. With the release of the Pla...

Well, it seems that someone decided to release a new version of one of my favorite trilogies in five parts. Yes, last week, nation wide, HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy was released to the masses. I was so excited, I read through all five books like I would before any major movie production that spawned from a book. Just wait for November when I re-read all five Harry Potter books. To say that I enjoyed the movie would not be a lie. For what it was, another hollywood glossover, it was ...

I am a huge fan of Nine Inch Nails. I have all the Halo albums, the singles, the stuff that a normal fan would have. Yesterday, I picked up the next album that came out, With Teeth. I was scepticle. You see, way back in the day, NIN released a double album called the Fragile. I was hyped, it was two discs of my favorite frontman and whatever musical talent he put together for another album. Upon listening to the first singel, the Day the World Went Away, I was hooked. So, when I go tth...
