So, like a billion people in the greater North America, I too sauntered to the movie theater with a pack of friends and took in the summer spectacular Harry Potter and the .....wait, wrong article. This is about everyone's favorite blue and red super guy. Spiderman. I liked the movie. There is something to be said for watching a movie where, for the first half, things get significantly worse for the lead character. Late rent, guilt over killing his uncle (accessory I think it would be), lo...

I read this little fact on the internet, and I was apalled. Actually, that is skipping ahead. I read in a friend's Livejournal that Halle Barrie has decided that she will not sign on for X-3. So, Storm will be written out. Apparently the reason, as reported, was that the movie will finish up the Wolverine story Arc and Storm doesn't have a bunch of lines. Not that she had many in X-2. Halle, who won a academy award for Monster's Ball, was quoted as saying " I am a actress ,and I don't do...

Like the rest of you, I ponied up my money a little while ago to watch the third silver screen adaption of J.K. Rowlings wildly successful franchise, Harry Potter. The third movie was a different movie, I'lll give you that. I, too, was worried about the change of the director. I had yet to see his movie, Y' Tuma....whatever it was called. All I knew was that the Harry Potter I knew was starting to diminish, especially after hearing months of rumors that it wasn't even going to be made. But...

I found a little rumor on the internet that claims that X-3 will be the finale of the series. Why was I so gullible? First, rumors that Bryan Singer will NOT be returning to X-3: *taken from interview with James Marsden from Killermovies.com : Regarding Bryan Singers ambitions to return to the directors chair, he said, "Yes, I know he really wants to. I think he’s also trying to figure out scheduling the shoot against he’s doing Logan’s Run. So he’s trying to figure that out, so ther...

If there is anything that sparks my imagination it is Star Wars. I have owned all the movie trilogy many times over, and in September I will fork over the $100 to pick up the first collection of Star Wars in DVD. It is one of the most requested DVD series that has never made. While George Lucus had decided in the dark years of the late 90s to hold off putting out the series on DVD until AFTER the current trilogy was completed and out of theaters, something changed and they are being released ...

In the early days, director Tim Burton brought one of the most famous comic book heros from the depths the comic book world and presented him to us in a dark, interesting manner. Batman, the blockbuster of 89, revitalized the aging franchise and brought it to millions of people around the globe. The Batman movie grossed 251 Million since that summer of madness. And why not? Not only was the movie well done, but you could hardly go wrong with Jack Nicholson as the Joker. In my own opinion, he...

" Empire had a better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vaders his father, Han gets frozen, taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that is what life is, a series of down notes. All Jedi had was a bunch of muppets." Ahh, Kevin Smith. Aside from unintentionally starting a war about which is the better movie, I decided to start this article with that quote. Why? Because that quote really sums up Kevin Smith and his talent. When I first started wo...

BBC News released a article on the 28th stating the long-running cartoon series is going to ahve a character come out next season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/3932369.stm The Simpsons has lagged a little lately, and this could be a jump to boost ratings. The last big thing they had, really, was " Who Shot Mister Burns." The usual suspects have all been rounded up. So, the question remains: Who will it be? Many people I know bet Smithers. The thing is that...

I caught onto Fox's The Family Guy after it had already been booted from the Fox television lineup. Fox made a big hit when it brought a little-known animated series to the forfront when it introduced The Simpsons. Before then, it was sitting on the Tracy Ullman show and suffering. In line came King of the Hill, Futurama, The Critic, and Family Guy. I am sure there were others, but they would be blips on the radar. What Fox seemed to not realize was that the creator of The Family Guy, Seth...

" The rumors about FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH are true. Today's Hollywood Reporter confirms that New Line Cinema has entered discussions with director Sam Raimi, the fellow who helmed the three EVIL DEAD pictures and who owns the copyright to Ash, the sarcastic hero of the DEAD trilogy. If a deal can be reached, Ash will go up against the two horror slasher icons in the sequel to last summer's FREDDY VS. JASON. In that case, it's expected that Bruce Campbell will strike a deal to play Ash for t...

Before I go into what would be a rant about movies, I would just like to state my position on movies in general: I love movies. All movies. I have watched some of the worst dreck imaginable, but did it again and again. Why? Maybe it is the fact that it is easy to get lost in the visual representation of someone's imagination. Hell, I OWN the DVD copy of Masters of the Universe, what does that tell you besides the fact I might have questionable taste? I reported earlier, there were talks wi...

I still remember the night I was introduced to a little budget indoe film by a then unknown director named Kevin Smith. Clerks was the reason I wanted to get into the writing or movie industry. There was a movie that showed that there is a attraction of audience to that kind of humor. I mean, the writing alone was amazing and top notch. Hot on the statement that ViewAskew (Kevin's production company) might not make it through the year, it is disappointing to know that all the man's wor...

One of the things that I miss about living in a big city is not the noise, or the people, or anything like that. It is the ability to go see a movie when it opens in the theaters. The theaters in my new town leave something to be desired. For instance, the local theater here just got Hero and THe Princess Diaries 2. The second week I got here, Alien Vs. Preditor was here. So, any chance of seeing Resident Evil: Apocolypse on opening night was dead in the water. I had planned to see it wit...

Long befor ethe Blair Witch Project made its way into theaters with the novel idea of claiming that the movie was real, there was the Texas Chainsaw Massacure. This is the story of a group of teenages that made the wrong move of hanging out in the wrong place. In the new movie, the mistake was picking up a hitch hiker that narrowly escaped from a crazy family. We are all familiar with Leatherface, the villian of this movie. It is interesting to note that the myht of what happened in Texas...
